Goodbye Jericho, Hello Truthiness

Now that Jericho has been cancelled we’ll never find out exactly which corporate white supremacist group it was that nuked America. Damn.

Upstanding left-leaning Americans say "good riddance". They avoided the show in droves.

Who wants to contemplate a post-apocalyptic future when you can instead focus on the positive and uplifting vision of Al Gore?

And when it comes to TV we’re much better served by the fearless, gut-wrenching reporting of Keith Olbermann, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.

These savvy newsmen and their wise viewers know there’s no need to imagine an apocalyptic future. We’re living an apocalyse right now under the money-loving, corporation-protecting, power-abusing, wire-tapping, war-mongering, gulag-building, torture-loving, environment-destroying, gay-bashing, Bible-thumping, race-dividing, jihadi-recruiting, immigrant-raiding, Constitution-ignoring Bush administration.

They should cancel 24 and The Unit too. We don’t need to know which corporate white supremacist groups they answer to either.

  1. Why don’t we have a upolitics site when we need one. Set up an impeach bush petition. All the anti-amnesty people and all the anti-war people can sign. There won’t be many not signing. Then maybe congress will impeach the bum and the next bum and so on until all illegals are deported and all the troops are home.

  2. I agree with anonymouse – we definitely need a powerful communicatioin/rally site to get the message of the voters out!

  3. The campaign to save Jericho seems to be gaining traction. It seems it’s the biggest fan protest in the history of CBS, maybe of network television.

What is it about this show that seems to have hit such a nerve? The strong family message about pulling together to survive disaster? Or is it the harsh reality of an apocalyptic future? Is it the message that government can’t be depended upon to save us? Or is it that the only way to survive is to fight for our own freedom? It’s probably all of these.

Here are some links to articles about the biggest fan protest ever:

    Jericho 3

    Jericho 5

    Jericho 6

  4. I saw one episode and liked it. Couldnt fit it into my schedule. They need to put it on at 10 PM with a rerun at 12 for night owls like me. Guess I will just have to wait for FX or Spike to pick it up. (Just havent adjusted to the netflix era yet)

upolitics? So Broadband WHITEY can put down public librarians. Up the rebels!
